Burning House

"If your house was burning, what would you take with you? It's a conflict between what's practical, valuable and sentimental. What you would take reflects your interests, background and priorities. Think of it as an interview condensed into one question."

This is the small text that welcomes you once you visit burning house tumblr page. The matter is sensitive and contradictive as the feeling of a burning house is awful especially for those who have experienced something like that but the necessity of being prepared is also important. If you isolate the negativity and keep the ingenuity of this site that covers the artistic perspective, you could surely enjoy your time there. :)

Beautiful post, Tatiana! Thanks for sharing! This is indeed a very interesting subject, and it's true - the answer reveals so much about one's personality! I often think about this same question, asking my friends "what would you bring with yourself if you had to move to a deserted island with just a small suitcase?" (sounds a little less dramatic than the fire :))
The first and most important "thing" would be my Zoe, of course :)... then of course my photos, my journals, 2 or 3 of my favorite books and my favorite stuffed animals. When I travel by plane, the things I always have in my hand luggage are my journal, some photos, my jewelry and my favorite book!

great post! I think this question can only be addressed only in theory and approaching it in that way it is an interesting one, choosing things that we love and that represent us in a way. After checking the site I found myself wondering what I'd choose, things from my home that have great value to me.
It's funny but after the '99 earthquake I run out of the house in such a hurry, taking absolutely nothing but the house keys :-)

Such beautiful pictures!
It's shocking to think of your house catching fire, but it does make you think of what it is that you really value and wouldn't want to live without.
